New York, 1996
Simplicity translates into sleek minimalism at Republic - one of the most stylish noodle emporiums in New York City. Chic yet elegant, the designers of Republic captured an ultramodern atmosphere that quietly coveys the fresh uniqueness of gourmet food served up quickly. STUDIO GAIA met the challenge of trans forming a long, narrow space, by creating a bar and open kitchen at the entrance of the restaurant. The dining area features pale blue and green walls, contrasted by lively orange boarders and bar stools which are enhanced by theatrical lighting. From the arch-shaped long bluestone bar, as well as dining table, guests can enjoy the main stage area - the open kitchen.
